Introduction to Photography
So, you bought that new camera but still have it in Auto or the Green Box selected. Maybe you want to take family photos. Perhaps you want to explore the backcountry or take travel photos. Whatever it is, how you tell your story with photography can make all the difference.
Learn the Basics
This course will discuss the essential elements of photography and camera operations. We will cover aspects of exposure and composition to help change your images from simple snapshots into amazing portraits, wildlife, or landscape images.
You will also receive a lovely book: National Geographic Photo Basics: The Ultimate Beginner's Guide to Great Photography. This book will provide additional examples and insight to help improve your photography, and we will refer to it during this workshop.
We will also cover basic editing in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
Portraits and Weddings – Yep, we will cover the basics there too.
Maybe you would like to create a stunning panorama image such as the one below taken inside the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania. In its Raw full-size resolution, this image would be 33 x 76 inches. We will cover the techniques used to create this image, which was obtained by merging 16 images composed in a portrait format.
